To make it easy, a prepaid envelope will be provided. What’s in it for you? A lot. The census and ACS provide an important snapshot of America, and assist local community leaders as they determine where things like schools, hospitals, highways, and other services will be needed. They also help the government tabulate the number of people in our country and shed light on how we live, education, housing, jobs, and other insights. These surveys also ensure your community receives its share of political representation in Congress and a fair piece of $400+ billion government funding pie. “For many sociologists and other scholars like me, the census data that is compiled every 10 years is flat-out the most reliable, comprehensive, and best source of data on the American population,” said C.N. It all starts with forcing water through a “hose”; and pressurized air through a “snow gun,” onto a ski slope, resulting in the white stuff that winter sports enthusiasts count on to supplement Mother Nature each year. This process of making snow created the foundation for the “Guns and Hoses” Race hosted each year by Holiday Valley. The 10th Annual Guns and Hoses Race will take place on Saturday, March 20 beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Cindy’s Run. Snowmakers from HoliMont, Holiday Valley, Peak n’ Peak, and Kissing Bridge will compete in both team and individual races on two separate courses. A Red Continued on Page 15 Recommended Eateries
