The Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) has put forward a list of closures and service reductions in order to achieve its proposed 2010-11 agency savings target to help address New York State’s fiscal difficulties. OPRHP’s plan includes the closure of 41 parks and 14 historic sites, and service reductions at 23 parks and 1 historic site. Mayor Coolidge made an adjustment to the budget in the amount of $40,000 to the Building and Grounds account to allow for repairs to a presently leaking roof in the Village DPW facility. This appropriation will allow for the cost of the entire repair. Board members approved the project to be let out for bidding. Tony Wenke, Mayor of Delevan, and one of the three initial directors of the corporation (other initial directors being Christopher Crawford and Charles Struble) said that nominations for officers included Charles Struble for President, Cheryl MacPherson-Walker for Vice- President, Chris Crawford for Treasurer and Scott Miller for Secretary. As of this article, Crawford and Miller accepted the nominations. The event started off with a bang with the amateur qualifying jam sessions. Some of the top amateurs from all around brought it to the course. In a competition that is all about the smoothness of the run, the riders attacked the course making each transition and board slide look more effortless than the last. Not to be out done, the pro’s took to the course. Laying it out in a session that can only be described as progressive. Each rider pushing the limits of the rider before. Mind-blowing butters coupled with high-flying transitions between features made for one of the finest displays seen at the Valley. The qualifiers led inevitably to the finals.
