Isn’t is amazing that we had snow and winter sports in November and one of the least snowiest March’s in years? Let’s hope we have a beautiful Spring with not too much rain and loads of sunshine!!!

Recently I have tried several new to me wines, two Cabernet Sauvignon one from Australia - RED KNOT and one from California - McMANIS; two Australian Shiraz namely RED BELLY BLACK and RED KNOT and finally a Malbec from Argentina - COLORES DEL SOL. Each of these wines are absolutely delightful, pair well with food as well as on their own.

Both the RED BELLY BLACK and RED KNOT Shiraz have distinctive characteristics with hints of vanilla, ripe plums and red berries. You may also taste chocolate, spice and black currant flavors from these well-balanced wines. RED BELLY BLACK comes with a screw cap, a wine bottle closure becoming more and more popular. The RED KNOT wines, both the Cabernet and Shiraz have a distinctive corking feature. The bottle is opened by removing a waxy-like seal that reveals a removable cork. This cork easily fits back into the bottle. It is one of the most unique corking features I have seen. The RED KNOT Cabernet has rich flavors and is filled with distinctive characteristics. The McMANIS Cabernet is produced is Ripon, California and is a rich, full-bodied wine with red berry and black currant flavors. Another full-bodied wine is the Malbec from COLORES DEL SOL in Argentina. This wine has enticing aromas and a robust flavors of dark cherries, juicy blackberries and delicate rose petals.

Stop by the VILLAGE WINE RACK and check out each of these wines, I’m sure if you like red wines, you will really like anyone of them and if given the opportunity, try them all at an in-house wine tasting. ENJOY!!!!
