Taxpayer Tea Party in Olean
Across the United States, a grassroots movement is growing with the American Taxpayer Tea Party on April 15th. It’s time for the Olean area Republicans, Democrats, Independents, Conservatives and all other taxpayers to unite and join in the revolution!
Are you upset with our elected officials in Washington DC spending not just billions but trillions of your hard earned tax dollars on bailouts and projects that they didn’t even take the responsibility of reading the legislation before voting for it?
Were you wondering what Senator Schumer was thinking when he said we don’t mind having pork in our spending bills? Don’t be fooled thinking only your Federal taxes will go up with their spending, as much of their money comes with strings attached which will eventually trickle down to your local property taxes, if not immediately then in the future, that’s the way big government works.
If you don’t want the run away spending and the plans to expand our government to deepen the debt Congress is leaving to your children and grandchildren this Tea Party is for you! Just as our ancestors sent a message to England in 1773 in Boston Harbor, it’s time Washington DC hears our voice regarding their irresponsible spending habits and burdening us with too much taxation.
The Cattaraugus County American Tea Party will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on April 15th, in Room 306 of the Masonic Temple Building, 124 North Union Street, in Olean. An elevator in the lobby is available. A suggested donation of $10 to help defray costs would be appreciated, but participation is more important. No one will be turned away for their inability to pay. For more information call Earl McElfresh at 372-8801. The Olean Republican Committee is sponsoring this event to bring the taxpayers of our area together in a non-partisan way to send a united message to Capitol Hill that the grassroots revolution against their excessive spending and taxation has begun!
