CCB SPONSORS SPAGHETTI DINNER
TO BENEFIT LITTLE VALLEY LIBRARY
LITTLE VALLEY, NY – At CCB (Cattaraugus County Bank), there is a group of employees that have formed what is called CCB’s America’s Promise Team. CCB joined America’s Promise in 1999. By doing so, an alliance was formed to ensure five resources children need are provided:
- An ongoing relationship with a caring adult-mentor;
- Access to safe places & structured activities during non-school hours;
- A healthy start;
- A marketable skill through effective education;
- An opportunity to give back through community service.
When two of the Memorial Library of Little Valley board members approached Sal Marranca (CEO of the independent, community-minded bank) about help for the newly remodeled library, he put the America’s Promise team to the task of coming up with a fundraiser to help. The team discuss several options and decided on an event they’re calling “SPRING FOR DINNER”. On March 21st (the first Saturday of Spring), from 5pm to 8pm, an “all you can eat” spaghetti dinner will be held at the American Legion in Little Valley to benefit the library. The dinner includes salad, spaghetti, meatballs, roll, pie for dessert and a beverage. The cost is $7 per adult and teen and $4 for children under 12. Funds to purchase the food, will be provided by CCB’s America’s Promise team and CCB employees on the team will be cooking, waiting tables and cleaning up.
“We’re ever so pleased to help the library in this way,” states CCB Vice President and America’s Promise Team Chair, Joni Simcick. “The village residents are truly fortunate to have a beautiful, newly renovated library available to them. We are proud to help. We have a great relationship with the local library and we know what good bakers the library ladies are. Every year we look forward to their Bread Sale for Easter and their Christmas Cookie Sale, both of which take place in our lobby. As a matter of fact, they are making the pies for “SPRING FOR DINNER”!”
