Annual Parade & Carnival Highlight Festive Weekend

Ellicottville’s Mardi Gras Parade is slated for next weekend on Saturday March 14, 2009 at 6:30pm on Washington Street. Consisting of floats, marching groups, musicians and whacky characters, the parade ends at the Village Gazebo with the crowning of the 2009 Mardi Gras King and Queen while Fireworks light up the sky. The parade, began in 1998, as an additional fun event to the already long running Winter Carnival Weekend hosted by both Holiday Valley and HoliMont.

A special weekend of fantastic fun is in store for the entire family, featuring great music, contests, food and lots of crazy, fun-loving folks! At the base of Yodeler lodge the mountain crew will have the rocking Snow Bar completed and ready to serve up a cold one. Saturday’s events at Holiday Valley include a Ski Patrol Pancake breakfast Jam at the Rail Park, the Snow Ponies Race, face painting, a scavenger hunt at Creekside, and Live entertainment at Yodeler Lodge and the Clubhouse Chalet. Sunday’s events start with a Ski Patrol Pancake breakfast, the traditional costume parade down Mardi Gras, the famous Dummy Downhill at the Yodeler Lodge and a Wine and Cheese Party at Clubhouse.
