Love Fest 2009
Generates
Funds for
Local Charities

LOVE FEST brought to you by the 700 Club at Yodeler Lodge was, as usual, WAY OVER THE TOP. The common bond of the 700 Club is that members are at least 70 years old and continue to enjoy skiing in Ellicottville. The 700 Club Members for 2009 are: Bill McEachern, Nick Rizzo, Dave Jones, Don Ames, Ken Brown, Bill Giles, Bucky Oertly, Ken Kemp, Ed Ziegenfuss, Chuck Twitchell, Tom Gallagher, Reggie Manson, Warren Ritchie, Gary Greer, Les Fox, Gary Elliott, Gord Doble and Rich Amato.

Generosity, Kind Hearts, Love of all human kind, determination, experience and strength are just a few adjectives describing the efforts of the 700 Clubs members. Yearly this group, with the help of numerous “happy to help volunteers” hosts one bang of a party at the hill. Specifically, tented outside Yodeler Lodge at Holiday Valley, where they happily feed the masses an epicurean delight; ala ski picnic lunch, including beer and wine for a nominal fee. Oldies tunes waft through the air while these suddenly seniors delight in sharing their humor and wisdom as the party begins. United by skiing and all it entails, including family, and tons of fond memories, impelled members to spread their good fortune by raising money for sake of charity. Over the last 8 years, the 700 Club has raised thousands of dollars for charity while having a lot of fun doing it.

This year “Love Fest” 700 Club 2009 fundraiser raised $2,600.00 designated to support Almost Home Animal Sanctuary, The Alley Katz and the Rotary Club’s Family Support for Ellicottville.
Spokesperson for the Rotary Club’s Family Support for Ellicottville, Greg Cappelli responded with “We thank the 700 Club members for their kindness in giving back to the community and those in need”

Family Support for Ellicottville is an affiliate of the Rotary Club of Ellicottville, Foundation for Youth a 501c3 charitable foundation. This organization is dedicated to acting as a bridge between families and supportive assistance.

Almost Home Animal Sanctuary is a 501-c3 not for profit organization dedicated to finding, providing medical care, and lifelong housing for animals in need. The animal sanctuary is located on a small apple farm in Little Valley, New York. The animals at the sanctuary all were destined to be destroyed or worse. Behavioral problems, aggravated cruelty cases, owner sickness or death, animal age issues, divorce, home foreclosure, etc. create unadoptable animals in large numbers. Some are lucky enough to end up there!

The Alley Katz is a group of volunteer garden green thumbers that design, plant, place nourish and weed the spectacular flowers in the village. On any designated Tuesday during Ellicottville’s summer months you can spot these worker bees cleaning, deadheading and pruning flower beds throughout the village.
