Ellicottville Central Schools Strategic Planning Survey

This past Wednesday, 2-18-09, the Strategic Planning Task Forces resumed work. The goal for the evening was to review DPS Data, or District Performance Scan Data. This comprised reviewing a survey that had been administered to the entire staff of ECS. Out of 114 surveys 90 had been completed and returned. Strengths, weaknesses and surprises were among the topics each core group took time to discuss. The overall feeling was that the staff at ECS was also ready for a change. The 21st century is here and we need to give the students of ECS all the tools they will need to be full participants in their future endeavors.

The Task Forces were then able to narrow down and refine the questions that will be appearing on the survey for the community. This information will help us even further in finding out the communities honest perception of our school system and all it has to offer. But, if the survey is not filled out it will be of no use to the Task Force.

The Task Force, as well as the staff at ECS, is urging you- the community, resident or non-resident, business owner or consumer, parent or student to please take some time and fill out the Strategic Planning Survey. The survey will be available at many different locations. It will be sent through the mail to all residents, but, it will also be available on the ECS website and can be completed electronically. The Core Teams have worked hard to make the survey concise and should not take up too much of your time to complete. Remember, your answers are confidential and important to helping us as a community to create an educational experience that will propel us smoothly into the 21st century.
