AMERICAN RED CROSS OFFERING CPR
(01/30/2009) First Aid, and Babysitting Courses
The American Red Cross, a United Way funded agency is offering the following health and safety courses at its 452 North Barry Street location during the month of February:
Adult CPR with AED Training: Learn to perform CPR on adult victims. Instruction also includes lessons on basic emergency principles, recognition and prevention of heart attacks, first aid for choking, and the use of an automated external defibrillator. Monday, Feb. 9 from 6pm-10:30pm, $69 per student.
Infant/Child CPR: A great course for new or expectant parents. Learn CPR for infants and children, plus how to perform rescue breathing and first aid for choking. Wednesday, Feb. 11 from 6-10:30, $70 per student.
First Aid: Learn to recognize and care for soft tissues injuries, broken bones, sudden illnesses, and seasonal emergencies such as frostbite, hypothermia, and heat exhaustion. Wednesday, Feb. 18 from 6pm-9pm, $64 per student.
Or, take all three classes for $80.
Babysitter’s Training Course: This course is designed especially for girls and boys ages 11-14. Students learn good business practices, basic care, safety, and first aid. Course includes videos, role play, and practice on baby manikins. Saturday, Feb. 21 from 9am-3pm, $50 (includes book and special gift). |
