Village of Ellicottville Planning Board Meeting

The Planning Board held their monthly meeting on January 13, 2009 at the Ellicottville Town Hall commencing at 5:30 PM.

Present at the meeting:
Board Chairman: Nancy Grogan, Board Members: Tom Abriatis, Sheila Burrell, Sandy Reed, Mike Painter, Secretary: Donna Baldwin

Architectural Design Review/Site Plan Reviews: PB-2008-22
William Soffel, ERA Building, 12 Washington Street, Ellicottville. Renderings on the proposed replacement of 3 front windows on the second floor of the building were presented to the board based on an application received on 12/29/2008. Motion to accept changes was accepted and agreed upon by all board members.

Special Use Permit Applications PB-2008-23

Special Use Permit-Subway Restaurant, 38 Washington Street, Sprague Development LLC.
Builder Bill Gugino representing Sprague Development presented drawings to the board complying with previous changes requested by the board. Board members approved the architectural changes required prior to a public hearing.

PB-2008-24 – PB-2009-01
Special Use Permit – Coffee Culture Cafe 38 Washington Street, Sprague Development LLC.
Architect representing Coffee Culture presented rendering on modifications to front and side of building. At the request of the board proposed banners were removed from their plan. Plan changes also include a roof over the patio located at the front of the building to include radiant heating encouraging year round usage; lighting and addition of some cedar shake to enhance the façade.

President of Coffee Culture Peter Karamountzos attended the meeting to provide an overview of their operations and discuss the normal hours of operation for their locations 6:30 am to 1: am.
Board members approved the changes under the Special Use Permit.

A Public Hearing will be held on February 10, 2009 on Subway and Coffee Culture Café.

Discussion Items and Status Reports:

HoliMont Ski Areas: No word on progress since Village attorney responded on 10/14/08 to HoliMont complaint filed with the State Supreme Court seeking Judgment against the Village of Ellicottville Planning Board.

Status of Subdivision and/or Development Projects:

ISKALO Development on former Signore property, developer has expressed interest in addressing the Planning Board at the February 10, 2008 meeting.
