This time of the year is filled with excitement as basketball and hockey kick into gear; only halfway through the season, football predictions are already being made; and baseball is just winding down. With all the very amusing things going on in sports right now, many believe that the sports rumors are the most exciting:

• Pitcher C.C Sabathia was offered a five-year, $100 million dollar contract by the Milwaukee Brewers
• The New York Mets are very interested in pitcher Derek Lowe of the Los Angeles Dodgers
• The San Francisco 49ers are reportedly interested in pursuing Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Holmgren
• The National Basketball Players Association is supposed to help Stephon Marbury in a contract dispute.
• LeBron James does not want to go to The Detroit Pistons
• The Philadelphia Flyers talked to Brendan Shanahan of the New York Rangers about being traded
