An Irish Christmas Celebration
THE GIN MILL-Friday, December 5 from 7 to 9 PM
AN IRISH CHRISTMAS, a Bob McCarthy inspired event will be held on Friday, December 5th at the Gin Mill in Ellicottville. This is the fourth year for this great event, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Ellicottville & the Foundation for Youth. The purpose of the event is to provide gifts to needy adults and children in the Ellicottville Area.
This year the Rotary is working with Cattaraugus Community Action Inc. (CCA) with all proceeds helping CCA to assist needy families in the Ellicottville area with gifts for children at Christmas. It will also ensure that the children in the women’s shelter and homeless units will have a gift. This indeed will put a smile on a child’s face and bring joy to the families.
CCA is an anti-poverty agency that” helps people help themselves”. Their customers are predominately the working poor. They assist individuals and families that are homeless or at risk of homelessness having homeless units available and a safe haven residence for women and children who are victims of domestic violence. In addition we work with troubled youth, they have a soup kitchen at CCA and are an umbrella agency for food pantries throughout the county, HEAP office on site, housing for low income seniors and home assessments for energy conversation and helping homes to meet code so that residents can avoid eviction.
Come join the fun and make a difference in a child’s Christmas.
The festivities are on Friday December 5th 2008 from 7-10pm at the Gin Mill, Ellicottville. There will be an auction, raffle, music, food and fun. You may make a donation or bring a wrapped gift for a child with tag stating male or female and age range and this can include adults
