An Irish Christmas Celebration
THE GIN MILL-Friday, December 5 from 7 to 9 PM
By Gerlind Dubey
Tis the season of giving… and once again Ellicottville’s own leprechaun Bob McCarthy and his host of Christmas Elves have organized a benefit for the less fortunate. This year’s event will be held at the Gin Mill on Friday, December 5 from 7 to 9. . Admission is a wrapped toy, with gender and age group clearly marked. With these offerings you will make a difference in the lives of children throughout Cattaraugus County. All the while enjoying Christmas Cheer with friends. The event will host a female vocal soloist singing our favorite Christmas Carols. There will be door prizes, raffles and a live auction with many special items including a very large Irish Christmas basket, a hand crafted Irish Cupboard, cookie gift baskets, by Master Chef Tom Kneeland; a large cookie jar filled to the brim with delicious treats by cookie expert Mrs. Debby Clause, a hefty Chocolate Cheesecake plus much more. McCarthy is spending his days building various collectables and donations for the raffle are still rolling in. You will surely find the perfect gift for someone special while rejoicing in the warmth of the Spirit of Christmas. By giving of yourself, you will make a difference in the life of others, isn’t that what it is all about?
With your gifts, Cattaraugus County Action will make Christmas happen for the children. The economic impact of our Country has touched all too many families in our area, making this year more difficult than any before. Monetary donations will be gratefully accepted as will new mittens scarves, blankets, and new household goods etc.
If you can’t attend and wish to donate; they may dropped off at the Special-E-Fects office. 9 Washington in the Visitor’s Center.
