BUFFALO UPSET IN GAME VS MIAMI
(10/31/2008) By Josh Bower
Last Sunday afternoon, the favored 5-1 Buffalo Bills lost to the underdog 2-4 Miami Dolphins. The scoring started out with Chad Pennington leading the Dolphins down the field against the injured Buffalo defense. Bills place kicker Rian Lindell, who had three field goals, scored the rest of the points in the first half.
In the second half, wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr. of the Miami Dolphins continued his great game by accumulating almost 100 yards. In the game, he had seven receptions for 175 yards. Opposing that for the Bills, Lee Evans had 116 receiving yards on seven receptions.
In recent games when the Bills have been behind in the fourth quarter, they have come back to win in a very exciting fashion, but this week that did not happen. This week the Bills had four turnovers in the fourth quarter, one resulting in a safety, which counts for two points for the opposing team.
The final score of this game was Miami-25, Buffalo-16. In many people’s minds, this was the most disappointing loss of the season for the Bills because of the Dolphins’ record. The new record for the Buffalo Bills is 5-2 and the Miami Dolphins, 3-4. The Bills and New England Patriots have possession of first place in the AFC East.
Next week, the Bills welcome the New York Jets to Ralph Wilson Stadium. This is a very critical game for the Bills, since the Jets are in their division. LET’S GO BILLS!
