YOUTH FOUNDATION THEATER PROGRAM
By "Soon to be 8th Grader" Ciara Peters

Over the summer I have participated in a theatre group directed by Lauren Scharf and Sara Flanagan. We met at the library for several weeks then we practiced at the church on the corner of Elizabeth and Elm.
Our play was called “Big Bad,”it is the trial of the big bad wolf against Little Red Ridinghood, the 3 little pigs, and the boy who cried wolf. Me and Breanna Coolidge had the 2 lead roles as the lawyers for the 2 parties. I was the fairy god mother the lawyer for little red, Bill Woodcutter (who we had to make Jill Woodcutter) and the 3 little pigs. Bre was Ms. Evil Step Mother, and the lawyer for Mr. Big B. Wolf.
The kids in the older group ranged from students going into 4th to 8th grade then the younger group ranged from going into 1st through going into 3rd. The younger group performed before our group. Their play was Little Red Ridinghood.

On Thursday the 14th the older group went to Art park in Lewiston, to see Beauty and the Beast. When compared to Ellicottville Central’s performance theirs had better props and some better singing, and better costumes. Ours was much funnier though, and our Belle (Lauren Scharf) has a better voice than the Belle at Art Park.

This was a great experience and I hope to be able to do it again next year. Be sure to watch the paper for info on this great program next summer. I just want to say thanks so much Lauren and Sara for letting all of us participate
